Hotel Description

This beautiful hotel is located in a carefully restored 1780' s landmark building in the very heart of Copenhagen and at one of its most fashionable addresses. Amalienborg Castle and the beautiful park Amaliehaven are nearby. Originally a granary, the rustic charm of its thick brick walls, large arches and Pomeranian pine beams has been retained as the setting for thoroughly modern hotel comfort. The harbor promenade which leads to The Little Mermaid starts just outside the hotel. The hotel’s 366 newly renovated deluxe rooms including 52 suites are beautifully furnished with modern Danish design and art. The teak furniture designed with gratings contributes to the maritime atmosphere. All rooms are larger than average of both Danish and international hotel rooms. The hotel’s restaurant Pinafore is known for its delicious food and rustic atmosphere and a fantastic view of schooners and the bustling harbour life. The menu of the season includes delicious seafood courses, fresh salads and juicy steaks. The Lobby Bar is placed in a very lively part of the hotel, close to the reception and the Lobby Shop. Below the vaulted ceiling is Nautilus - the hotel's own night club open during week-ends. Open Monday through Saturday - Nautilus offers exiting surroundings, great music and lots of action. And the best part is that "home" is just an elevator ride away. The hotel offers four meeting rooms and six unique and fully equipped conference and banquet rooms with a seating capacity of up to 120 delegates, for dinner parties up to 220 diners and for receptions up to 500 guests.

Just returned from a weekend staying at the Admiral during December (bitterly cold!). Nice setting and comfortable environment but at the time the reception area was undergoing some renovations, but was not a major inconveince, Until Monday morning at 9am when constant drilling vibrated through the hotel, And one other thing a double bed consisted of 2 single matresses and 2 single duvets! not really ideal for a first holiday with my girlfriend.

Hotel was lovely. Very good location. It was unseasonally hot in Copenhagen this July and we really suffered without air conditioning.

Although the Admiral is situated in an area that gives a visitor access to many sightseeing attractions and is adequate in its offerings, it does not command a return stay on another visit to Copenhagen. Good, but no cigar.

A frequent traveler who is in Copenhagen a couple of times a year, I tried the Admiral for a one-week stay recently. What a find! Very reasonably priced, responsive staff, good food, wonderful location, nice rooms, great bathrooms -- and a real bonus is the free parking located at the front of the hotel. Will stay there next time.

Staying at that hotel felt like we have never left home! We live in the loft in Chicago and I am so used to the exposed brick and timber. This was literaly like I was still sleeping in my own bedroom and I loved it.
